CLASS ACTIONS
A Class Action is a lawsuit brought on behalf of many people that have experienced the same loss or grievance. Class actions can form as a result of consumer fraud (when consumers are injured by illegal insurance industry practices, called “insurance bad faith”), human and civil rights violations, injury from environmental, toxic and other mass torts (such as chemical spills, defective auto products, defective tires, or products that cause harm) and pharmaceuticals or medical devices that cause injury.
